Diary of a man down under - Day 7

By neil, 24 February, 2011

Sydney weather is weird. Another day which has started as overcast, rained on and off all morning, and now glorious sunshine!

Spent the morning and early afternoon at Taronga Zoo (the zoo with a view?) a lot of the animals seemed a little tired, but plenty of photos taken. Really do need to get another memory card soon! Some lovely views over the river back to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Also happened to be well placed to watch the Queen Elizabeth leaving. Just finished off some fish and chips all by myself, unlike someone at the next table who lost some fish to the birds! Nearly time to head back across the river and decide what to do for the rest of the afternoon.

Update: 1925
Went to the observatory in the afternoon. A lot smaller than you expect; especially the domes. Now planning on a quiet evening and early night. Up early tomorrow for a tour of the Hunter Valley wine region.

One thing I've noticed about people who go to attractions and take photos. Why don't people learn how to turn off their flashes? Your nowhere near the thing you're photographing, there is a huge glass window in front of you... The flash us useless and will only spoil your (and everyone else's) photos with the reflection of the flash! Oh, and why are you so happy to use your iPhone or mobile's crappy camera?
