Diary of a man down under - Day 9

By neil, 25 February, 2011

My feet ache! Headed out to the Sydney Olympic Park today. Started off by doing the stadium tour. Interesting to see how they've shrunk the stadium by 30,000 seats. The running track was relocated and then a few blocks of seats were removed at each end and the corners pulled in with new roofs installed. Some of the lower seats on each side are on rails so they can be moved in and out. This allows them to either have a rectangular or oval shaped pitch.

The surprising thing is how big the site is. Around the stadium are number of smaller arenas and exhibition areas. But to the east the Olympic Park there is a large amount of green land with some nice walks and good vantage points. Also plenty of wildlife around. Arachnophobes may not want to looks at the photos! I'm just glad I had the telephoto lens with me!

Talking of photos; I must be up to over 1000 now. Managed to fill the first 4Gb memory card. Managed to get a second card a couple of data ago, so let the photography continue!
