Diary of a man down under - Day 17

By neil, 5 March, 2011

Not really a lot to report today. Had a bit of a lie in this morning before heading into Brisbane for a quick lunch then a wander up to the Roma Street Parkland.

The Parkland is billed as one of the world's largest city sub-tropical gardens. I wasn't expecting there to be much there; but it is fairly well organised with information centres, cafe, road train and guided walks. At least there are meant to be guided walks. I waited for the 2pm walk, but no-one showed up to lead it. They say they can be cancelled in "adverse conditions", and it had been raining at 10am; but it was fairly sensible weather by 2pm (the walks are done twice a day - 10am and 2pm.)

Other than that, just been a relaxing day. Tomorrow is last day in Brisbane and spending it with a friend; then fly back to Melbourne in the evening.
