Japanese Dream - Day 7

By neil, 15 November, 2012

Not a lot to report today.

Left Tokyo to travel to Kyoto. Uneventful journey on the Shinkansen. Hotel was a little hard to find, but have my reference points now so shouldn't be a problem again! Main difference so far is it's a lot colder here in Kyoto, and it's spent a large part of the evening throwing it down. Hopefully it'll dry up a bit tomorrow when I plan on spending the morning at the Yamazaki whisky distillery!

Only other thing I've found out about Kyoto so far is that the cyclists here are even worse than those in Tokyo! I think banning cycling will be fairly near the top of the agenda when I rule the world!

See how well I sleep tonight in a new bed. The hotel I'm in is a little basic. Bed looks at little larger than a single, but I only have a small pillow to try and rest my head on. Given I can be a restless sleeping that could be interesting! Also this place has shared toilet and shower facilities. I don't even have a sink in the room - there are 2 just down the corridor. Even more strange is this was the most expensive place per night to stay! Oh, and I also have to take off my shoes when I come into the building!
