Yep, it's that time of year again... The limited edition Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer is out. This year's edition is in a light brown box.

The beer describes itself as an IPA and comes in at a reasonable 6.4%ABV, but the bottle is small - only 330ml. The beer is matured in oak barrels, into which hops have been added, for 60 days before being bottled. The production run comes in at "only" 68,000 (a very round figure!)

So, am I alone in finding the farce of the 2nd ODI between England and New Zealand an annoyance? Sadly, I firmly believe that this could have been avoided. If you consult the Laws of the game along with the ODI Regulations, there does not appear to be a requirement for a Tea interval at all - there is a provision in the Law that allows the captains to agree to forgo a Tea interval. Since I'm something of and bitter, twisted and angry man, I've written to the ICC, the MCC (the guardians of the Laws) and the 2 cricket boards expressing my opinions and reasons for them.

Well if you listen to Radio 2, firstly well done! but secondly, you'll have found it hard to avoid a Swedish band called BWO. So I ended up doing some random searching for their albums, and came across it on sale on CD WOW! Stragely, the editorial review is in Swedish, despite it being a British site. So of course, I stuck the text into Google's translation engine.

Interesting whisky tasting last night. We (the Durham University Whisky Appreciation Society) have started doing an annual blind tasting. Essentially we get 4 cheap (under £15) whiskies, and one well-known "expensive" one (around £20-£25). We then get members to taste each whisky and score them out of 10. At the end we total up the scores to see which was the favourite of the night, and also if anyone can spot the "expensive" one.

Well, CAMRA wasn't too bad tonight. Fairly productive, albeit with the usual 3 discussions happening at once, and dragged on a bit.

*sighs*

As much as I'm sure I said I would never have one of these things, and that people who did have them were "sad", etc. I have finally decided to enter the world of the blog!

Not really sure what I'll ever come up with to write about, not how reliable I'll be at updating it, but I guess there's only one way to find out!

Anyway, tea-stop over, so back to work! Will try and get around to ranting later. CAMRA meeting tonight, so that could give me some ammo!
